2016 Best Music Releases So Far

2016 certainly has thrown down the gauntlet in terms of Metal releases. Despite us only just coming into the month of June so far we have had some absolutely astounding releases. From comebacks to phenomenal debuts, expansive work to avant garde madness this is a list chronicling just some of the newest releases this year. An Interview With : Stef Broks (Textures)

Homogenising the bands past, present and future to mould a new era of Textures, Phenotype the bands new release, will see them breaking more new ground in the arena of Progressive Metal. Focusing the album’s thematics to mirror the conceptual idea of both genotypes and phenotypes, each one respectively reliant on the other in order to survive. One about origin another in a sense about destination. Explaining in more depth to us shortly before flooring London I was able to speak to time keeper extraordinaire Stef Broks about Textures’ past, present and very bright future.

Textures Live At The Underworld

Forging a creative path that many would hardly conceive in a lifetime Textures have announced their return this year. Releasing their brand new album Phenotype this month the band embarked on their Oceans Collide tour. Currently performing all over Europe, Textures brought their brand new show comprising material from their early beginnings in Polars right up until their conceptual tour de force Phenotype to London for one night only.

It is said that every seven years a mutation is set to occur within the human DNA system, chemical reactions have eventually led life to evolve developing different characteristics both genetic and physical to suit our habitat. Determined to find the answer surrounding humans and their genes Gregor Mendel,  regarded as the father of genetics and the understanding of inheritance decreed certain characteristics are owing to genetical make up. Ever mutating cells create mass difference in genes which not only affect the organism’s inner physique but it’s outside appearance. Now just shy of seven years later a mutation has occurred in the genus of Textures.
