An Interview With : Dan Foord (Sikth)

Announcing their return last year Sikth were the ones to watch. Performing live for the first time in years at Download Festival the band went on to perform a mini tour culminating in London’s Koko performance. With no one wanting to tempt fate the band went into slight hibernation once again until the announcement of their brand new EP. Quickly snowballing in part due to the fans rabid reaction to the announcement and the band’s supply of new material the EP morphed into a Mini album. Celebrating its release the band have been on a small UK tour ending at London’s Forum, no doubt one of their biggest shows to date. Prior to being floored by their exceptional performance we were able to speak to the rhythmic brain behind the Sikth juggernaut, Dan Foord. Giving us a temporary fly on the wall look into Sikth’s year we spoke about what it was like getting back into the writing process after such a long absence, what Sikth’s plans for the future might be in the form or a potential new album and a fantastic surprise in store for next year that will no doubt make Death of a Dead Day fans very excited indeed…

Live Review : Sikth – Hacktivist and Destrage

The history behind the Watford bunch is illustrious to say the least. Pioneers of a genre now commonplace among the Metal community SikTh are in every sense of the word unique. Leaving their imprint upon the Metal community long after they had dissolved, the band at long last broke their silence last year announcing a reunion performance. Thrusting themselves back into the fray the band decided to shake 2015 up by releasing new material. Originally penned as an EP the record slowly materialised to a mini album, a perfect reintroduction to a band as infamous as their history. Celebrating their new landmark the band embarked on a UK tour culminating in the capital.

Album Review : Sikth – Opacities

As the modern day of technology seems to be all consuming it was only a matter of time until it found its way into the realm of music. Now with Axe Fx patches here and profiling there it seems that many of the band’s in the modern day Metal scene could be seen as similar. Rewind some ten years to the small seaside town of Brighton where six Britons were crafting a sound that was ten years in the making. Releasing their eponymous cult classic Death of a Dead Day tragically the band broke up. Slowly but sure accruing a multitude of fans aided by the mystery of the ever possible beacon of a reunion the silence was at last broken last year. Following their brilliant performance at Download the band embarked on a tour, stupefied by the success the band resolved that they would be back. Now tomorrow the band will be unleashing their upgraded EP come Mini album on the world, was it worth the wait?
