Dissonance has become a buzzword in the Metal community. Known for its cacophonic tendencies the word tends get thrown around to enrich a band whos sound maybe be somewhat lacking. Returning back in 2013 an enriched line up ushered in the phenomenal return of Gorguts. Having released one of the most truly dissonant albums of their time, the classic Obscura to say the band are pioneers of the genre would be an injustice. Now shortly before unveiling their brand new EP Pleadies Dust our Canadian brethren roll into town to deliver an unlistenable sermon.
There are bands out there that truly separate the men from the boys. Known for their overtly manly personas Amon Amarth are truly a sight to behold. Having begun their quest for Valhalla in 1992, twenty six years on they would be forgiven perhaps for running out of steam. Yet with their brand new and incredible album Jomsviking imminently released the band are anything but. Returning to their humble beginnings to the cavernous venue that once greeted them before excelling beyond their wildest imaginations.

Currently performing all over Europe, Textures brought their brand new show comprising material from their early beginnings in Polars right up until their conceptual tour de force Phenotype to London for one night only.
Once again we are plagued to the greedy maw of London’s venues with a particularly early start time at London’s Koko tonight to ensure that Club NME can still go ahead… However before that we embark on a journey of the metaphysical in both sound and spirit. Joined by Nordic Giants and The Contortionist, Tesseract will take to a sold out Koko’s stage later this evening to reveal just what makes this band absolutely exceptional.
Technicality and emotion are not exactly something that you would deem would go hand in hand. Making their UK debut this July at the fast growing Tech Fest, for those who were there Agent Fresco were an undoubtable highlight of the fast growing festival. With the release of new album Destrier behind them the band embark on their first UK headline tour however before we can get back to our favourite Icelandic bunch we were able to pay heed to some fantastic up and coming bands tonight.
