Eluveitie have been on a rocket ride to the top of their game for the better part of the last decade. It’s arguable to say that the band have set an incredible standard for folk metal with the series of folk instrument virtuosos that fused with death metal riffing. Bringing their latest album ‘Origins’ to London we catch up with frontman Chrigel Glanzmann to ask a few questions about how Eluveitie continues to pioneer such complex music.
No doubt the world over has seen the first interview that Eagles of Death Metal have given since the horrific attacks that occurred almost two weeks ago at Paris’ Bataclan. I also watched the interview, along with the preview of the interview which was in poor taste and personally have a few things to say about it.
Technicality and emotion are not exactly something that you would deem would go hand in hand. Making their UK debut this July at the fast growing Tech Fest, for those who were there Agent Fresco were an undoubtable highlight of the fast growing festival. With the release of new album Destrier behind them the band embark on their first UK headline tour however before we can get back to our favourite Icelandic bunch we were able to pay heed to some fantastic up and coming bands tonight.
Currently on the last leg of their monumental European tour Voivod are the first of the big four to come out of the Deathcrusher tour. Creating music that, in keeping with their style is very much out of this world the band will be hitting the studio to record their brand new full length. Once again we were lucky enough to catch the sci-fi prog punkers on their London date. Sitting in Kentish Town’s Forum we spoke to Snake the figurehead of Voivod and second founding member. Speaking about the band’s past, present and future we delve deep into the universe that is Voivod.
After Scar Symmetry blew us away with their London performance, we caught up with the newly crowned mastermind of the band guitarist Per Nilsson. There is much hype about the ‘Singularity‘ album trilogy, and with two albums to go we need something to get even more excited about…
Having wowed us all with the arrival of the new era of Megadeth with the first track “Fatal Illusion” we are now able to hear another track “The Threat Is Real“.
More cancellations sadly amidst security fears in Europe, as Papa Roach and Devil You Know have pulled the plug on their upcoming Wembley show with Five Finger Death Punch.
The industrial metallers have been in a bus crash, but thankfully all are OK.
