Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe Issues Thorough Statement On Decision to Cancel Upcoming European Tour

No doubt most in the Metal community were made aware of Lamb of God’s recent cancellation of their scheduled European show just monies before doors were set to open but perhaps not many understand it. Randy Blythe is here to explain the band and their choices.

Releasing a long and thorough statement on the artist’s blog the man has essentially given the long and short of why Lamb of God decided not to go ahead with the aforementioned European tour. Stating that the band received news that there was a specific occurrence that immediately caused the singer to say “Fuck this, I am not going on stage tonight“.

Though nothing has been said in concrete I would imagine that the singer received a threat that their scheduled show in Brussels was in fact in danger and rather than jeopardise the safety of not only the band and their crew but the thousand plus fans, decided to cancel the rest of the European tour. Deciding to continue on Children of Bodom and Sylosis decided to continue the leg of the European tour without Lamb of God

It’s increasingly worrying, particularly that today (Sunday 22nd of November) Five Finger Death Punch were scheduled to perform in Milan, a country which is currently on high alert. Deciding to postpone the show as the band have heard rumours that they in turn might be targeted as yet another potential target. Writing this myself I attended the Lamb of God / Megadeth Wembley Arena show and I cannot express just how much the singer was right about the atmosphere at the show. One of defiance, unity and strength but he is right, at the end of the day music will not stop bullets or any form of terrorist organisation. It is horrific to think that this day and age has caused many bands to feel unsafe and the general feeling around Europe especially is one of unease. The band took the right decision. No doubt the shows will be rescheduled and people who bought tickets will be able to see the band again, waiting is smaller price to pay for your safety.
