Having announced that their brand new album Monarchy would be hitting the shelves this August Rivers Of Nihil are now debuting a second track.
Releasing the critically acclaimed The Conscious Seed Of Light, Rivers Of Nihil were instantly a band that everyone should take note of . With their concept revolving around the various different seasons the bands new album will be tackling the Summer season. Previously releasing first single, “Perpetual Growth Machine” an example of what to expect from the new material.
Now the band release title track “Monarchy”, seeing the band adopt their signature sound whilst also implementing more progressive tendencies. The band have stated before that as the album progresses the songs will become more, well, progressive.
“The whole album is a concept piece, lyrically. It follows the struggles of a new breed of intelligent life on a planet earth that is now essentially a vast, oceanless desert. These beings, as humans did long before them, create a ruling class that dominates the masses through religious fear. By the time we reach the title track, this “Monarchy” is in full swing. Musically, the track expresses this dominant oppression via an exploration of our heavy, groove-oriented side. This one is a bruiser, but it doesn’t abandon our taste for blast beats, fierce riffs, lead work and an overall sense of shred.”
Well said Adam Biggs, it is very much a more rhythmic affair than the previous track where we saw the band exhibit a more lead oriented approach, either way it seems that big things are set for Rivers Of Nihil, watch this space.
