In what will no doubt come to a shock to many people The Dillinger Escape Plan have decided that after their album cycle for Dissocation the band will be throwing in the towel.
In an exclusive interview with Noisey, Ben Weinman elaborates on the band and their forthcoming record. Stating that 2017 will be twenty years since the band has been around and essentially feels like it would be a good closing chapter for the band.
Those who know Dillinger understand their relentless live performance, restless energy and truly mad songs. Keeping that kind of fire alive within a band must be nigh on impossible to carry on. The in depth interview goes into various different elements about the band and their career and features some interesting facts about the album which you can read here.
I wonder if it might have something to do with Giraffe Tongue Orchestra too, though it is made up with both Brent Hinds and William Duvalle both of who are in very big bands who will logistically be very busy throughout much of the year. At least there is a final chance to be able to check the band out if you’ve never seen them live on this tour cycle.
God speed Dillinger.
