Recently announcing that Swallow The Sun would be releasing no doubt the most ambitious record to come out this year. Stating their brand new work would be not just a double album but a triple album the band have given us an idea of what we might be coming to expect in November.
Thir incredibly ambitious effort Songs From The North I, II and III will no doubt be an incredibly interesting listen. Comprised of three sections the album will tackle all the various genres that Swallow The Sun are associated with. Part I will be the most straightforward Swallow The Sun sound on the album, whereas Part II will feature solely acoustic guitar work and promises to be a lighter offering and finally kicking things up a gear Part III ensures to be the most extreme section of the spectrum on the album. I just say I haven’t heard of many bands bring out a triple album, the double album in itself is a big task to undertake but having three brand new records? That seems madness.
Premiering their first song to come from the trilogy today the band show us their softer side with the almost entirely acoustic “Pray For The Winds To Come” has certainly gotten me interested least of all the fact that the band decided to go with a slower softer sound for their debut of the new album. We shall wait and see if the rest of the album is as good!
Songs From The North I,II, III Is set for a November 13th release via Century Media.
