Keeping very quiet until now Summer Slaughter had been teasing various bands and have at a last revealed their hand.

Well I don’t know about you but that has thoroughly underwhelmed me. I have no problem with Arch Enemy headlining whatsoever, but it seems as though it might be a very mixed bag. Thumbs up for Cattle Decapitaton, Obscura and at long last Beyond Creation but After The Burial, The Acacia Strain and Born Of Osiris? Really? Sumerian seems to have taken over with this festival. When in the past we have seen the likes of Origin, Morbid Angel, The Black Dahlia Murder etc…

To me this doesn’t even feel like the Summer Slaughter tour. Skinless return this year, they could have been added, Pig Destroyer maybe? Job For A Cowboy, though no one quite knows what is going on with those guys! Death?? The fathers of death metal, perhaps Obituary? Though these are just my musings. I just don’t that this generic Born of Osiris style metal keeps going…
