Sonata Arctica Announce New Album The Ninth Hour

Deciding to return back two years after previous release Pariah’s Child, Sonata Arctica are indeed back to deliver a brand new record titled The Ninth Hour.

Produced by the band themselves the record follows in the same vein as the previous outing with mixing duties being held by Pasi Kauppinen. Recording the album in several home studios throughout April of this year the band brought the album to Studio 57 in Finland for mixing purposes.

Based on a passage of the bible the band state that the Ninth Hour is when humanity is meant to repent. Depicted on the album cover are both worlds. One where humans no longer exist and nature has triumphed and vice versa with there being an hourglass in the middle its somewhat of a metaphor no doubt, particularly with the modern day events taking place and the world going to pot.

The record is set for an October release which is just a week before their London Shepherds Bush Empire appearance after their plethora of festival dates this summer. I’m sure that we will have a brand new track soon enough to sink our ears into too!

Sonata Arctica’s brand new album The Ninth Hour is set for an October 7th release via Nuclear Blast.
