Ah the first days of September, as Autumn begins to settle in before the arrival of winter we’re greeted with the familiar cold snap that brings us into colder realms, so naturally it’s time for a new Opeth album!
Having previously debuted the more Prog Rock heavy title track “Sorceress” the band showed a slightly different side illustrating an evolution from Pale Communion, the band have now opted to show their softer more Folk oriented side with “Will O The Wisp“. Sounding similar to what you might have expected to hear on Thick As A Brick or the likes of other a Prog Rock classics the track keeps the theme ethereally autumnal. Coupled with Akerfeldt’s vocals makes for an earthen yet airy delivery.
Of course the more a Metal fans of the band will no doubt be disappointed but the people with a bit more of an open mind might dig it!
