Let us take a moment to honour Jack Bruce, bassist of the progressive trio Cream, and a key player in the development of the progressive music scene.
Bruce passed away from liver disease at his home in Suffolk, United Kingdom at the age of 71, and the flood of tributes have been pouring in to the man who has been labelled one of the greatest bass players of all time. Musicians such as Tommy Iommi, Mike Porntoy, Glenn Hughes, Mick Mars, Paul Stanley and Lemmy Kilmister took to Twitter to express their sympathies at the loss of an icon.
Bruce, along with other iconic members Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker released 4 top selling progressive albums with Cream, arguably highly influential on the progressive metal scene giving it the experimental shape and form that we know and love today.
RIP Jack, may you jam with Dio now!
