Easily one the undisputed favourites of this year’s Tech Fest Agent Fresco won over our heart’s not just once but twice over the weekend. The first being their main support Saturday main stage slot and the second being a very exclusive and truly haunting acoustic set, which was to be one of the most moving experiences of music that the mass of Tech Fest goers would experience. With their brand new album Destrier set for release next Friday we were able to sit down for a chat with the truly charming Arnor and Þórarinn before both of these magnificent and truly honest performances. Speaking of the band’s new album, past experiences and what we might be seeing from this truly unique band that will very shortly and quite rightly take the world by absolute storm. A Tech Fest Interview With : Gareth Mason (Slice The Cake)

Being in a band is hard enough as it is in the same city. Slice The Cake are the combined efforts from players from all over the world. Ranging from Australia, Sweden and to the UK the band have been slowly releasing material and now have two albums under their belt. Making their first EVER live appearance at this year’s Tech Fest we were able to have a quick chat with vocalist and all round nice guy Gareth Mason. Contrary to his on stage persona, the frontman was a polite mild mannered individual. We sat down to speak to him about performing for the first time ever, what we might be seeing from Slice The Cake later this year and what it has been like keeping a band together from all different corners of the globe…

A Tech Fest Interview With : Heavy Metal Ninjas

One underlying theme at Tech Fest was the sense of inter nationality through music, none more so personified than by the Heavy Metal Ninjas. Our Maori mates came all the way over from New Zealand to deliver their own brand of instrumental Metal, that truly astonished the crowd at the performance on Saturday’s main stage. Though before hitting the stage we were able to speak with the band about how it feels to be in the UK for the first time, what some of their influences can be put down to and what we might be seeing later this year from the ninjas!

Second in our series of interviews that we were lucky enough to catch at this year’s Tech Fest. Acting as Friday’s main support, personally I felt they were more than adequate for a headlining slot , Leprous performed an absolutely stunning live set. A moving and simple yet technical performance, mirroring the bands work. Prior to their sublime performance, both guitarists Tor and Øystein were able to chat to us about their brand new incredible album The Congregation. How it feels to have evolved from the hey days as a youth band and how exactly you can create simple yet simultaneously technically demanding music…
