Fast becoming a hub of creativity, the lone island has become a beacon of Hardcore come Metalcore acts of the modern day. However despite its beautiful scenery there are still some who feel a little gloomy, one Amity Affliction.
A staple in the late eighties the idea of the split EP has been around for quite some time. Brought together by similar styles, common themes or even just being friends split EP’s are what some would call diamonds. Falling under the umbrella the three bands toured with each other extensively forming a bond leading to the idea of a three way split manifesting their despair, desolate ideologies and hopelessness in The Depression Sessions.
Equilibrium boast a discography that most bands that strive for an epic sound cannot do. The German metallers have put four records behind them that have been met with increasing acclaim from fans of the cinematic, folk and pagan genres, and even breaking bounds with fans in the general metal spectrum. In 2016 they bring ‘Armageddon‘ – can they live up to their epic reputation once again in their fifth album?
Times seemed very rough for Deadlock in the last couple years. Events occured that would usually bring a band to it’s swift end…but the German metalcore outift prevailed and came out more passionate than ever to create an album. We speak to founding member Sebastian Reichl about Deadlock’s difficult times, and the brand new album ‘Hybris‘.

Though the album’s title could be a tip of the hat towards the demise of Deathcore will Carnifex emerge victorious or be yet another to fall victim to Deathcore’s monotone roots.

Known for their “Don’t give a fuck” attitude Municipal Waste are easily one of the band’s that come to mind when thinking of rebellion. Shortly before performing their blistering set at Download we were lucky enough to be able to speak to both Dave Witte and Tony Foresta about the band. Revealing at progress has been for their brand new album to be recorded very soon we spoke about the current life of Municipal Waste and it’s logistical gymnastics , Thrash and of course THAT t shirt.
The world of extreme Metal is one not for the faint hearted. Relying on devotion, understanding and above all passion Cattle Decapitation are the perfect flag bearers for the monicker of what is deemed to be truly extreme. Mixing caustic musical ideas with scathingly relevant lyrical subject matter the band are a true force to be reckoned. Releasing their latest misanthropic ode to the demise of humanity The Anthropocene Extinction just last year the band are currently touring the world in support of the excellent record. Shortly before their devastatingly brilliant, sold out Nambucca performance in London we were able to speak to one Travis Ryan. Discussing issues ranging from the nightmare that was the band’s previous London appearance to what made the singer decide to create somewhat of a niche in the Metal scene. Cattle Decapitation truly are the purveyors of all things extreme.
