The wanderer, a proverbial term perhaps for someone who is lost, seeking a meaning in whatever it may be that they are searching for. Perhaps a wanderer could be seen as a free spirit independent of residence. Mainstayers in the Metalcore arena, Germany’s Heaven Shall Burn are very much steadfast in their musical creativity. Releasing their brand new album Wanderer this year the band take yet another step into the Metalcore march. Speaking to us courtesy of Century Media we asked guitarist Maik Weichert a couple of questions surrounding the new album, to see what he thought of the term wanderer.

The Dillinger Escape Plan : A Study In Dissocation

Finality is a concept that we as humans often struggle with, not necessarily a foreign idea but more of a surprise it can come at any moment. Reacting to setting that has become finite that was seemingly limitless, this idea of a definite end can often bring us into a jarring state of self awareness. Fabled for their truly berserk live performances The Dillinger Escape Plan are a band like no other. Bred on dissonance and cacophony the band’s diet has been plentiful over the years. Breaking the news that the band would be unveiling their latest avant garde piece Dissocation, the musical collective were somewhat bowled over by the band’s decision to call it quits. Slowly coming to terms with this idea that the infinite has now reached a zenith we look to see just how much of an impact The Dillinger Escape Plan had and whether their final statement will be one of fervour or whether the band have simply become their idea of Dissociation.

Album Review : Vader – The Empire

Able to withstand relentless barrage of attacks, the German Panzer unit were a site to behold. Owing to their incredible sense of engineering, in effect created one of the sturdiest war machines in memory. Taking a leaf out of the Panzer’s book, Vader, are very much this embodiment of the steadfast. Sticking to their proverbial guns the band have been releasing albums consistently for years upon years, which in essence sound the same but what makes us want to keep coming back to them? An Interview With : Lord Ahriman And Heljamadr (Dark Funeral)

As the evenings come quicker and darkness comes thicker so we move into the time of winter. Returning after some time away from the Black Metal realm, Dark Funeral return once more into the fray of frost and fire. Currently on their European tour with Krisiun, we were able to catch up with both Lord Ahriman and Heljamadr on their London appearance. Sat ironclad and without the usual corpse paint get up its clear to see that both Ahriman and Heljamadr, when not on stage donning their imposing gear are simply fans of Black Metal. Revealing to us the process in which Where Shadows Forever Reign was brought to light and some of the inner turmoil members experienced and its cathartic release.
