Performing at this year’s Bloodstock we said our hello to Hang The Bastard, previously releasing their brand new album Sex In The Seventh Circle the band took Bloodstock by storm. Hailing from London the band decided to make a weekend of their appearance at this year’s Bloodstock. We were lucky enough to be able to speak to Hang The Bastard main man Simon Grubb about how their year has been so far, what we might be seeing from the band at a later date and more info on their brand new album!
What is your opinion on the UK scene, especially the London scene really…
I still quite like a bit of Hardcore so I go down to like the Rucktion nights and things like that , check out bands there.
Like No Second Chance and all that sort of stuff?
Yeah they’re actually good friends of ours, so. We check out them and stuff I was saying to someone else earlier p, the Internet is a good thing because you can easily go on and just find out the new bands. I’m a bit lazy anyway so I don’t go to all the shows but it’s a good way to find out bands. You catch them that way and then if you like them obviously you go and see them! I think it’s good, festivals like this are good for it good for the scene they keep it going. You don’t have to be a mainstream festiva like Sonishpere or Download. You look at the crowds here everyone is absolutely up for it, they just love theMetal they love the music.
I think they’re real die hards the kind of people that come here.
Yeah! Which is another reason why I really wanted to play this festival.
Oh cool, so it’s a big tick off your list?
Massi tick yeah! Fortunately we have been able to tick quite a few things off of our little bucket list. When we started out we were like we would love to play The Barfly or The Underworld and you Le we’ve done that a couple of times now for us as a little band just a group of mates making a bit of music, that was cool tick off the list.
Any other ticks that that you want to tick off?
Well Lars hasn’t got back to me yet they’re supposed to be supporting us on the next tour, hahaha I wish eh!
