So going back to that video…sorry I keep going back to that but it was just so awesome! Where did you guys film it?
We filmed it down in the same desert where they hold Burning Man, out in the middle of Nevada [USA]. The set was on an old prehistoric lake bed where it is all just endless sand that is really easy to drive on, kind of like the salt flats but not salt…
So the sand flats?
Yeah. [laughs] We actually hooked up with this camp from Burning Man, they are called Death Guild Thunderdome, and they are the ones that do the Thunderdome every year – and they are basically portraying Mad Max: Thunderdome every night. They park their cars there and work endless hours to make it as similar to the movie as they can. They were really awesome and kind enough to let us use their cars, and Nathan Cox, the director, who is also part of the guild – it was amazing, they were all amazing!
And all the costumes were hand made?
Yes! One of the other guild members named Yomi, she did most of our stuff, and I have a personal stylist back in Vancouver named Jasmin, it’s called Hell Bent Creations and she did a lot of my stuff too. She also does a lot of my stage gear like bracers and such…
The album ‘Time Stands Still‘ drops June 26th via Napalm Records!
