Coal Chamber Stream Title Track

Previously releasing the first taste of new music in thirteen years Coal Chamber showed us that “I.O.U. Nothing“. With the first single we were shown what Coal Chamber sound like in 2015, although its not exactly the most mind bending music, it was catchy and if you’re a fan, I’m sure you will be loving the new album. Now second single title track “Rivals” goes even deeper into the Nu Metal territory. It’s got all the check list for a Nu Metal anthem, strange slight groaning, slow drums, and the all important stomping chorus.

Though the first track may show that the band are bringing their sound into modern day, the title track most certainly echo’s their past. This is no bad thing though, if you’re going to be a fan of their older material like the poetic anthems of “Big Truck” and “Loco” then chances are you will love “Rivals“. Me personally, I would love to hear more of the sound the Coal Chamber will bring, first single was a great compromise of their roots yet embracing the modernity of today’s sound.

Listen for yourself and see what you think!
