Along with releasing a brand new album set for a September release date this year Tesseract are also going to be releasing a brand new live DVD/CD combo of their most recent performance at London’s Scala when the band were performing with Animals As Leaders. With this being a big show, there was a small announcement from the band teasing that they might have been filming something for a later date. Personally, I thought it could have been a live DVD that would be coupled with the special edition of their new album, but now it seems that this is going to be its own release altogether…

As ever with Tesseract the sense of the enigmatic looms, with this performance being their real “Welcome back” to previous singer Dan Tompkins, perhaps the band are aiming to usher in the new/old era of Tompkins after Ashe O’hara‘s departure from the band. Personally I thought that O’hara‘s vocals complimented the band fantastically on 2013’s Altered State. The band also have a decision now to make on the new record, stick with the path of just singing, or bring back the screams from Tompkins. Only time will tell with these boys. We will make sure we let you know as soon as we can! For now, enjoy the tease of the new live CD/DVD combo!
