As no doubt many of you know we were given the sad news yesterday that Prince has sadly passed away. Since then the Metal community has been pouring out their tributes to the man. 

It’s no secret that the Metal community loved the Purple Rain master, which I have to say is a statement enough for the enduring open mindedness of Metal that we would all love someone who was in many ways not very Metal. 

Regardless however the man was an inspiration to so many adding to the list of Bowie, Frey, Lemmy and sadly so many more there have been some artists that have said some words regarding the man.

So sad to hear of Prince’s passing; one of the greatest musical talents of my lifetime. Maybe of the 20th century. RIP.

There has even been a tribute that Corey Taylor did for the man whilst performing “Purple Rain” on his acoustic run just last night. 

These just a couple of the reactions from the community no doubt there will be oh so many more, I have to say personally I hadn’t really listened to much of Prince bar the classics but his influence not only in Metal but in music will no doubt live on forever. RIP
