Though Bloodstock might be known far and wide for it’s incredible line up of already established bands it is also a fantastic platform for the lesser known British bands to really have a chance to be heard. Brighton born King Leviathan performed on one of the smaller stages Friday this year and received truly a heroes welcome. Having fought it out through and through the band finally got through the opportunity of a life time and performed at this year’s Bloodstock. Everyone, meet King Leviathan.
So hello King Leviathan! How are we today?
Adam :Awesome, oh fuckin’ hell!
So awesome you can’t get the words out haha!
Adam : I usually speak more than I should do really, but now I can’t really speak. After playing we’re just kind of in a state of disbelief.
Sam :We ended up going out partying last night,
Adam : I did end up going out and partying last night…
Adam : We finished playing, I wasn’t drunk the whole day then did my whole days drinking in about two hours..
That’s good! Make sure you get your innings haha! So how was it to play the stage yesterday?
Sam : Amazing, best gig we’ve ever done by far.
Adam : As soon as we finished playing we just thought we wanna do this for the rest of our lives. There’s no other way to explain it than just watching everyone go mental being on a stage like that and saying we’ve gotta do this! We can do this.
So you had a really good reaction from the fans in the crowd?
Adam : Amazing reaction! When we started up we were doing our soundcheck there was about two rows of people, about twenty people, a couple were our mates and a couple had just come to check it out. We’re just playing in front of friends and stuff mainly, we’re in stage mode so we’re sitting there not really paying attention, not in a rude way but we need to be cool whilst we’re on stage.
Sam : We start off facing the drum kit as well so we can’t see what’s behind us,
Adam : So we’ve all set up I’m prepared ready to go and I’m standing on the drum riser, my guitar is feeding back to the intro track, here we go and… Open note, turn around and see the whole tent full and going OH SHIT! Full stage mode so I’m just running forward going “come on!” but in my head I’m thinking “this is mad!”
