The band were due to perform in Tel Aviv tomorrow night but have pulled the plug on the show. The reasons might signal the end of the band…
The news was broken to the promoter from frontman Fabio Lione to the show’s promoter that this was to be the last show he would perform with the symphonic metallers, then the band became restless turning on their booking agent, and apparently keyboardist Alex Staropoli has been thrown in the mix of being indecisive on the band’s future.
Their lack of activity on social media has also signified this might be heading towards the end of the band. A damn shame for a force that has such a lucrative career.
The official statement from the promoter in Tel Aviv is as follows:
“The situation isn’t entirely clear, but it starts to clear up. It appears that the band are going through some sort of internal instability, that made Fabio Lione write to us a couple of weeks back that the planned concert in Israel will be his last with the band. Also, it appears that the band members wouldn’t show up anyway, because, as their booking agent claims, the bassist’s passport wasn’t valid up until two weeks ago.
“On top of it all, half of the band members don’t wish to continue working with their current booking agent, except Alex Staropoli, the band’s keyboardist, who hasn’t decided yet. A bold hint to the band’s state is their recent inactivity on their official facebook page. Notice there wasn’t one post after the band’s cancellation announcement in July 8th, in neither their facebook page or their official website. Since their recent announcement about the original concert – there hasn’t been one single update, and that comes from the mess that’s happening backstage right now.”
Brace yourself for the official news…Luca Turilli might have the only remaining Rhapsody…more on this as it develops!
