The Acacia Strain have released a second song following their first single, the ever aggressively titled “Nailgun” is the new single off their up coming album Coma Witch. Its fairly simple Acacia Strain formula, some chunky riffs here and there added in with a breakdown. All in all it’s not very imaginative in my opinion, using the gimmick that an eight string guitar has now become, making them write similar styles of riffs just with lower tunings. Although their song writing is pretty formulaic there are some elements that are interesting, I just wish that bands would stop slowing the song down to snail’s pace just for the sake of it and tried something different instead.
