Acacia Strain Release New Song

The Acacia Strain have at long last announced their follow up to their previous effort Death Is The Only Mortal. Sticking with the same cover artist I believe is Justin Kamerer for the excellent looking Coma Witch, some are speculating that it could be an album loosely based on coma sufferer Ann Coulter. In a coma herself and yet able to move and talk supposedly the only person to be able to do this, they have released the first track off the album, “Cauterizer“. It is essentially more of the same, there is as much evolution as you would expect from The Acacia Strain, they still retain that almost hardcore take on Meshuggah with their eight string guitars and breakdowns. Being the first album without their long time guitarist Daniel Laskiewicz, there is definitely a less slowing the song down for the sake of it approach which always used to bore me with The Acacia Strain perhaps due to his departure and the addition of Devin Shidaker and Richard Gomez. Two guitarists are now in the band instead of just the one so perhaps there will be an extra dimension added that was not previously there.
