Set to release her new album The Shadow Self in August the singer has unveiled a surpsirse for fans meaning that the wait for August wouldn’t be too arduous. 

In anticipation of her latest record the singer has announced that she will be unveiling a prequel album. Entitled The Brightest Void the record will be released on June 3rd via EarMusic. 

Over fifty minutes of never before heard material, owing to the sheer volume of tracks Tarja created, the singer decided to release a double album of sorts to share them with the world. Joining her on her journey into The Brightest Void will be Michael Monroe former frontman for Glam Rockers Hanoi Rocks. Whilst the legendary Chad Smith from Red Hot Chilli Peppers will be performing as well as a reworked cover of Within Temptation’s “Paradise (What About Us)“.

Perhaps the prequel might set the tone for the darker sounding Shadow Self later in the year, it will be interesting to see how this pans out. 

The Brightest Void is set for a June 3rd release via earMusic.
