Kicking the year off in fantastic style Ensiferum released their brand new album One Man Army. Having toured all over since it’s release the band began to hit up the festival circuit leading us to a warm Sunday afternoon where the band would be performing at UK Bloodstock Festival. Before their fitting brutal slot at the festival, we were able to speak to drummer Janne about what the band had been up since the release of the new album, why there has mostly always been a progressive epic as the final track and what Ensiferum have their sights set on.

Seemingly one of the first things that people notice about Alunah is the presence of their female singer Sophie Day. Regardless of the fact that the band have a front woman, this shouldn’t be a point of interest. Over the weekend that we were there it became more and more apparent that the variety of bands that were on offer from the festival ranged far and wide all over the metal spectrum. From the household names of Trivium to the rising stars of our time. With this being Conan’s first time performing at Catton Hall, the band were about to deliver their signature Herculean Doom Metal riffing to the metal loving masses.
