The comic book / musical crossover of September Mourning has finally found a home!

After years of producing content independently, label Sumerian have announced that they have signed up the ambitious project!

Yes it is female-fronted and we all know that there’s a certain market there to the metalheads, but there’s a little more to it than meets the eye. The project is actually a cross-media experiment based on a story developed by frontwoman Emily Lazar (under the alias of September).

I have followed the project since last year and there has been some interesting ideas behind the development of the project. An experiment is always a risk for a label to pick up, but Sumerian have decided to go head first in signing up the band that has become exponentially popular over the past couple of years.

It’s interesting to see where it goes from here, but they have kicked off proceedings by releasing a brand new single and music video, basically summarising the project.
