Having now released almost as many tracks as Slipknot did Lamb Of God reveal their fifth song “Embers”.
It’s apparent now that this will not be a standard Lamb Of God album, never one to stay within the confines of the conventional the band have been unique since their inception yet it seems that VII : Sturm Und Drang might well be their most adventurous yet.
Having seen the use for the first time in their career of clean vocals in previous song “Overlord” now we see another first. The first of two tracks to contain guest spots on vocals, going side by side with Blythe must be nerve wracking enough so it’s a good job that they enlisted the truly diverse Chino Moreno. Seemingly able to do no wrong, the singer comes in for the final section of the song.
Stating that there were two different endings to the song originally, one being traditional boring Lamb Of God and another working from a section where the sound would swell. Its reasons like this that have made the band who they are today. In my opinion the pioneers of Modern Metal, the band are untouchable. Listen to the song and let us know what you think!
Lamb Of God’s brand new album comes out this Friday 24th July via Nuclear Blast.
