An Interview With : Mariusz Duda (Riverside)

One of the mainstays of the Progressive genre has always been the classic calling card of the concept album. Having seen a slight resurgence in its popularity over recent years it has become a more accepted form of storytelling. Releasing their brand new album Love, Fear and The Time Machine, Riverside construct a hazy retrospective of a persons life and their decisions to change it. Last month we caught the band on their London date, prior to the performance we were able to speak with mastermind Mariusz Duda about the new album, it’s writing process and why I should be afraid of a hat?

Album Review: Far East Dizain – Tonick Dizain

Japan has produced some excellent metal over the years and has slowly but surely gained some worldwide fame. The sound of metal bands in Japan has become uniquely identifiable, but much so that many of the bands adopt that sound as a standard, afraid to venture outside of it. Leda, guitarist of Babymetal, has never thought twice about venturing outside the norm to demonstrate his flair and brilliance in guitar and songwriting proven in his brilliant projects of past. Live Review: Epica + Eluveitie + Scar Symmetry

This November weekend has certainly been eventful. The tragic events in Paris sadly foreshadowed it, but two megashows across London spanning different shades of metal music showed the resolve, spirit and unity of metalheads and the support they showed for their fellow humans. The second of those megashows featured three titans – Epica, Eluveitie, and Scar Symmetry – and they were here to give their all.
