Welcome Metal Allegiance a band comprised of Testament’s Alex Skolnick, Megadeth’s Dave Ellefson, every band under the sun’s Mike Portnoy and founder Mark Menghi!

Formed of some of the most influential musicians of recent years, Metal Allegiance is apt name for this supergroup. Comprised of bassist David Ellefson of Megadeth fame, drummer Mike Portnoy ex-Dream Theater and Winery Dogs not to mention a plethora of other side projects guitarist Alex Skolnick of Testament and topping it off with Mark Menghi the Metal Allegiance founder. Having performed for the first time succesfully on Motorhead’s Motorboat, the band have now inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Records.

Personally I feel that this will be a real treat for those hungry for a new super group. Though it does seem that every super group under the sun seems to involve Portnoy ! Not a bad thing, however personally I feel that there will be some pretty cool experimentation on this record. With Alex Skolnick having a back ground in the more jazzy side of things, or failing that if the band decide to go for a more thrash oriented root then who better but Megadeth bassist to carry the rhythm! Not only will these three metal demi gods be the principal members behind the band but of the nine tracks expected for release there have been contributions from artists all over the metal world creating a fantastic palette for our modern metal lovers. The band’s debut album is set for an Autumn release via Nuclear Blast.
