Wowing us all with their first example of new material on the Thin Lizzy strutting “1985” Kvelertak show that this was only the tip of the iceberg on their new song “Berserkr“.

Picking up most.y where the last single left off the haze of nostalgia once again appears with the band’s brilliant tone but this time takes a complete u turn and instead goes into territory that flirts with Thrash Metal style riffing before becoming stranger as the song progresses until it’s natural Kvelertak finish. 

It’s a brilliant new song and might either quell or worsen fears for some fans. Personally I think it’s a step in the right direction. Though the band’s sound might be solid, there is only so much that you can do with their sound before sounding like much of the material is the same. Here however the band have created a differential, new sound Wih still sounds exactly as you expect them to.

Kvelertak’s Nattesferd is set for a May 13th release via Roadrunner.
