Lagerstein Release Cover Of “Down Under” Because They Are Australian

And don’t you forget it.

If you could count the number of times you’ve heard “I come from the land down under” in a Walkabout pub or Outback steakhouse, well you wouldn’t be able to do it on your fingers and toes. You’re about to hear it a bit more folks, it’s been metalized.

It seems like Australia’s pirate-metallers Lagerstein want to get in on a piece of the Kangaroo-nations music history by playing their homeland’s national anthem. They are Australian after all, it just seems like they have to. They have to celebrate the release of their upcoming album “25/7” somehow…

Have a listen to the Men At Work cover below:

Lagerstein’s “25/7” album drops on Friday August 23rd via Kegstand Records and with all of their festival appearances all around Europe, they are feeling homesick and have been spreading the word about their homeland.

“As Australian party pirates, we’ve always been unashamedly proud of that crazy southern Island we call home, so this classic is the perfect cover song for us! Taking Men At Work’s ear-worm melodies, and giving them Lagerstein’s party metal spin, we’ve created something that can be enjoyed as much at home, as in the pit. Now it’s time for a Vegemite sandwich and a Bundy Rum!”

Actually wouldn’t mind a Vegemite sandwich and a Bundy & Coke right about now…it’s Monday after all.
