The members of our favourite black metallers Immortal have been reported by the Norwegian papers to have initiated a legal battle over the band’s name and logo.

According to paper Dagbladet, Abbath of Immortal has taken legal action against fellow members Horgh and Demonaz over the assets of the Immortal franchise. The band have been relatively inactive since 2010 and where a sudden legal struggle could have broiled up is yet to be seen, perhaps Immortal were planning to make a comeback?

Whatever the case Immortal don’t seem to be making a return anytime soon given the circumstances, a big disappointment to fans and meme lovers alike.

Black metal is no stranger to lawsuits, the most famous of cases being Gorgoroth where Gaahl and Infernus battled for the Gorgoroth name.
