Just a couple of months ago we were all talking about the end of GWAR given legendary frontman Oderus Urungus‘ (aka Dave Brockie‘s) death. GWAR have sought new beginnings though, and have added a new vocalist along side Blothar (Michael Bishop, ex-Beefcake the Mighty).
It is a bit of a surprise that the new co-vocalist is a lady, and her name is Vulvatron. Couldn’t think of a better name to add to the GWAR ranks though! The band are no strangers to sharing the stage with women, as the band had a longtime back-up singer and dancer by the name of Slymenstra Hymen that left the group in 2000. They have introduced their newest member below:
“Meet Vulvatron, a spiky purple Amazon whose massive (prosthetic) breasts occasionally shoot geysers of blood out onto her hapless audience. Vulvatron is not dancing, or breathing fire, or keeping the slaves in line (though one assumes she’ll be adept at all three). For the first time since the departure of dancer and backing singer Slymenstra Hymen (Danielle Stampe) in 2000, GWAR has a female member, and she’s the frontwoman.”
She has already made her debut at RiotFest in Chicago, and we look forward to see her in full action…and also how she enriches the already crazy GWAR narrative!
