Following the recent issues regarding the band’s long time drummer Phil Rudd, there have been rumours abound. After his run ins with the law due to conspiracy to murder someone, along with possession of drugs Phil Rudd has been told to remain in New Zealand until after his court trial, February 10th.
Due to appear at the 57th Grammy awards on the 8th of February however AC/DC will be playing a set, this therefore begs the question, who will be Rudd‘s stand in? His future within the band itself is questionable, we all know what happened in the Tim Lambesis incident… Having played with AC/DC on some of their best albums, rumours have been circulating that Chris Slade will return as sticks man for the band.
Originally scheduled for an appearance on January 31st the drummer had to cancel his event and of all people, it seems that his optometrist may have spilt the beans. Stating :
“There is actually big news regarding Slade and his career coming in the next several days which is why he had to reschedule this event.”
Many signs point to this being the return of the former drummer following Rudd‘s mishaps. It could be exactly what the band need, what with the news that Malcolm Young wouldn’t be returning to the band due to illness, it looked like dark days for AC/DC. The band sold out Wembley Stadium in an hour and will be performing at this years Grammy’s following the release of last years Rock Or Bust. Make sure you catch them live!
