Swedish born Mattias Eklundh is not only a guitarist which was featured on four of Soilworks albums, but an innovator in a new style of guitar. Being a master of jazz guitar itself Eklundh decided to take it one step further and introduced, all guitarists desires, the comb. Although it may sound mad in the words of Aristotle “There is no great genius,without a mixture of madness”. It is a very interesting concept, many people find it odd to play instruments without using the proper equipment, but who is to say what proper equipment is, as long as it can make a sound surely its just a good as anything! Using the bristles from the comb as well as using it in a sort of style of violin you get lots of different sounds and textures which you can’t get with a plectrum.

Anyway, check out the video below that was filmed in locations all over the world, its slightly cheesy but the guitar work, if innovative is solid with some jazz fusion style solo that would make Frederik Thordendal jealous.
