Megadeth guitar maestro Chris Broderick has also announced his departure from the band shortly after Shawn Drover announced he would leave the band with immediate effect.
While Shawn Drover was vague in his reasoning behind his departure from the band, Broderick has made it more apparent that struggles with band mainman Dave Mustaine are the reasons for two key members to abandon ship. Broderick states below:
“Due to artistic and musical differences, it is with great reluctance that I announce my departure from Megadeth to pursue my own musical direction.
“I want all of you to know how much I appreciate the amount that you the fans have accepted and respected me as a member of Megadeth for the last seven years, but it is time for me to move on.
“I wish Dave and everyone in Megadeth all the best.
“I am working on a few things of my own and hope that when they come out, you will all dig it.”
Clearly things are not OK within Megadeth to cause such an exodus, especially losing Broderick is a big blow to the band as his boots are hard to fill. Dave Mustaine will likely comment on the departures at some point in the near future and will be interesting to hear what he has to say about it.
Whatever is next for Broderick though will surely be something exciting, as he can produce material without the restraint of Megadeth behind him.
