Earlier in the year Cattle Decapitation had holed themselves up to write and record the follow up to the hugely successful Monolith Of Inhumanity. At long last it seems that the wait, is still not quite over! Returning to Dave Otero to record the new album, who was previously repsonsible for their 2012 masterpiece. The band have finally announced that the record is indeed completed, but, will not be seeing the light of day until mid-summer.
Stating their reasons being that “the vinyl industry is blowing up” the band have pushed the record back, I would imagine that we would be looking at a July release with this being one of Metal Blade‘s biggest releases of the year, along with newly announced BTBAM. Though it looks like we’re going to have to wait just that little bit longer, I have a feeling that it will be worth the wait. Remaining pretty tight lipped about the entire affair we know that the record is about 50 minutes long, due to a slight clue left on the “artwork” the title could very well be T.A.E.
I would bet that it would be something along the lines of The Age Of Extinction, something post apocalyptic I’m sure. The band have said that over the next couple of months they will be putting together some excellent pre order packages along with reworking their live set and planning their live world tour. Fingers crossed that this will cement Cattle Decapitation‘s reputation as one of the figurehead deathgrind bands out there.
