One of the mainstays of the infamous genre that is Death Metal, Obituary lay dormant for the most of the beginning of this decade. Awakening from their cryosleep the band released their brand new album Inked In Blood last year. Deciding to go it alone without a record label, the band decided to begin writing new material. Now as much as the double edged sword of modern technology can be swift to cut you down it can also be an incredibly useful tool. Deciding that the band would be going the way of crowd funding the band raised the $60,000 needed to make the album in just one day. However it then set in the reality of just how much work was about to be put into the band’s return to form…
No doubt most in the Metal community were made aware of Lamb of God’s recent cancellation of their scheduled European show just monies before doors were set to open but perhaps not many understand it. Randy Blythe is here to explain the band and their choices.

This November weekend has certainly been eventful. The tragic events in Paris sadly foreshadowed it, but two megashows across London spanning different shades of metal music showed the resolve, spirit and unity of metalheads and the support they showed for their fellow humans. The second of those megashows featured three titans – Epica, Eluveitie, and Scar Symmetry – and they were here to give their all.
After the events that not only rocked the foundations of the world itself but the Metal world in particular on Friday a sense of unity has been rippling throughout the movement itself.
