We all know what Dani Filth can do with Cradle. We sort of know what he can do with Devilment, but now is that time to make a statement of intent as to whether this band is going to steam on as a full project, or just something that will wither away. Devilment II is here y’all.
An Interview With : Neal Tiemann (DevilDriver)
Initiation can be somewhat intimidating, beginning a new job, changing location but especially when joining a brand new band. Going through an evolution to an extent DevilDriver saw a pretty radical change in the guard. With both drummer John Boecklin and guitarist Jeff Kendrick departing the band both Dez Fafara and Mike Spreitzer got together to flesh out a new plan of action. Fast forward to the year 2016, the newly cemented line up has seen the band unveil their biggest release to date with their phenomenal chart topping success that is Trust No One. Prior to their one off exclusive London date way back in August, we were lucky enough to be able to have a chat with Neal Tiemann, where we found out what exactly it would be like to join DevilDriver.
EP Review : Lamb of God – The Duke
Mortality, a subject explored limitlessly in culture. Moving as far back as the beginning of man, the idea of our own mortality has been questioned in a universal language. Independent of borders the idea is a unifiying principle among man. Known for its unforgiving nature cancer is a remorseless illness. Befriending one fan after his incarceration in Prague, Randy Blythe, was contacting by one Wayne. Battling the all too familiar battle with cancer for a short period the two became friends until sadly there came news of Wayne’s passing. Among the many conversations had whilst recording their follow up VII : Sturm Und Drang one would be regarding potential singing on the record. Returning with their ferocious comeback Lamb of God astounded the world once more. Wanting to create more than just an extra track “The Duke” was born, a record that surpasses a simple dedication.
An Interview With: Dani Filth (Devilment)
Straight from the horses mouth, it’s clear that Devilment are no longer a vanity project of famed Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth. The production of a second album merits that fact, where time and effort have been spent into curating a dark and experimental craft of music. The outcome is ‘Devilment II – The Mephisto Waltzes‘, and we inquire into it’s development.
An Interview With : Paul Templing And Ben Turk (Gloryhammer)
Power Metal as a genre is a fickle mistress. Having two different camps there are varying levels of seriousness taken when you’re singing about wizards fighting dragons. Taking the more tongue in cheek aspect of Power Metal and well and truly running with it, Gloryhammer are no doubt onto something. As we hand you back over to the hazy summer memories, now but a long forgotten memory in the cold times of winter we look back to the absolute gentleman that were Paul Templing and Ben Turk as they talk us through the Gloryhammer ethos and their allegiance to the Power Metal genre.
Album Review : Animals As Leaders – The Madness Of Many
One mans junk is another mans treasure. Similarly applicable in the idea of perception each of us as a person is different. What might be perceived as irrational to one could be completely logical to others. Playing with this idea of perception of sanity and it’s altruistic qualities Animals As Leaders speak a language some might well understand whilst others may not.
