Carnifex Post Video Discussing Artwork

Scott Lewis has kindly been able to illustrate the band’s decision behind the artwork seen on Slow Death.

Following on from their previous record Die Without Hope, the band began to experiment with ideas previous not implemented in the Carnifex package before. Echoing this continuation Lewis states that Slow Death continues this trend of evolution so when speaking to long time Carnifex collaborator Godmachine the band wanted a stark cover to have a striking meaning.

Personally I didn’t like it at first but it has begun to grow on me, working in a simplistic nature contrary to the previous artwork which was heavily crowded. Check the video out and you can even see a little bit through Lewis. Pretty sure he was wearing green on his hoodie…

Carnifex’s brand new album Slow Death is set for an August 5th release via Nuclear Blast.
