Having previously released the chilling first instalment of the story of This Is No Fairytale we saw the beginning of our story. Fantastically told through the art of Costin Chioreanu the two stories give a ghoulish illustration to the macabre tale. With first part “There’s No Place Like Home” introducing us to our morbid characters. In the form of a drunken wife beater along with a drug addled mother, not to mention sexual assault the father is painted in a damning light. Finishing off the first chapter with an ominous statement that the nightmare had just begun for the mans two children, a boy and a girl.
Second lyric video “Two Flies Flew Into A Black Sugar Cobweb” details the escape of the two children after seeing their own mother take her life in the bath, the children escape. Running through the forest they’re met with the city. Catching their breath they spot a clown, enticing the children, the clown gives them sweets where they lose consciousness, thinking they were safe away from their previous horrors.
It must be said that the music only truly works when you have a strong descriptive narrative driving it. With the two lyric videos being a perfect sidekick to the band’s ghastly sermons, we hope that there will be even more. Creating a sort of cartoon horror movie, we’re beckoned to keep watching as the final To Be Continued… appears
