Beyond Creation seem to have actually cracked the technical death metal code, not only are their songs memorable but they contain the most melody I think I have ever heard in tech death. With their new song the title track of their new album “Earthborn Evolution” almost being an instrumental piece save for the fleeting vocals, utilizing all facets of the band, in particular bass guitar. Its no secret that the band push their bass sound to the fore but this song exemplifies it perfectly. Dominic Lapointe acts as a brilliant rhythm piece but is also simultaneously becoming part of the lead role. Besides all sorts of solo’s in the song, the crucial part is that its memorable, slowly moving through various different moods in the song but always maintaining the harmonious instrumentals.
It seems to be from the two previous tracks that we have heard that Beyond Creation have matured the sound they were scoping in 2011’s The Aura and have made a more streamlined accessible record, that will put them firmly on the map as, in my opinion one of the most well thought out forward thinking bands in the death metal genre.
