Barren Earth Return With New Album Announcement And Brand New Song

Barren Earth

With this being their third album the Finnish progressive death metal bands Barren Earth announce that they will indeed have a new album out. Entitled, On Lonely Towers, the delightfully dreary new effort is scheduled for a March 30th release via Century Media Records.

With the new song and new album bassist Olli-Pekka Laine states :

“During the writing process of the album, we did many things from a totally new perspective. If there ever, was a certain pattern in a basic Barren Earth song, this time we consciously tried to think things differently. Many other things changed too, some of them unintentionally, some of them will fully. A new production team, a new front man, a new record label. The list goes on. Instead of putting out a song in a typical verse-chorus form, we thought that this three piece Boulder would stand for the album better.”

Much has changed in the Barren Earth camp with this being their third release since The Curse of The Red River in 2010. The band have seen a line up change and also a change in record companies. This will be an interesting new beginning for the band and if the title track is anything to go by then this will be a very interesting affair. The looming, foreboding set piece that is the title track is a great song that will get you through any given Thursday. Mixed by Petri Majuri and mastered by Tony Lindgren the gloriously gloomy created by one Travis Smith its the perfect package.

Make sure you’re sat comfortably before you listen to the eleven minute and fifty one second epic.

On Lonely Towers is scheduled for a March 30th release date via Century Media Records.
