California metallers Avenged Sevenfold have announced that a video game is in production based on their ‘Hail to the King‘ album.
Usually when there is any sort of game based around a band, it is sort of a novelty and the game is usually not very good or cheaply made…this case looks a tad different.
The game will be called ‘Hail to the King: Deathbat‘ and has been 2 years in development according to a recent interview between frontman M.Shadows and Revolver Magazine. The game is inspired by the music, artwork and lyrics of Avenged Sevenfold is a hack-and-slash game in the vein of Diablo and will feature old and origian music by the band as a soundtrack for the game.
The game is being developed by Subscience Studios and has been funded by the band themselves. No release date has been given for the game, but screenshots were released to tease it. We have to say it doesn’t look too bad! It looks like there is some actual work gone into this, and since M.Shadows is a self-proclaimed gamer that would ensure there would be some quality on the latest band effort.
