According to NBC Philadelphia, recently a German metalhead in his 50’s checked into a hospital at Hannover Medical School complaining of constant and worsening headaches. He iterated to his doctors that there was no history of any strenuous activiy besides headbanging most of his life.
It may seem trivial but it seems like a lifetime of headbanging may take it’s medical toll with a benign cyst developing on the German gentleman’s brain. A hole in his head had to be drilled to drain the blood that had filled in his brain from headbanging to his most recent visit to a Motorhead concert with his son.
Although medical experts have attributed headbanging to have some medical repercussions, they insist that this instance of severity is very rare and that one should not think twice about headbanging to a great band. Headbanging is not the largescale medical drama a lot of the internet has made it out to be in the last few days.
