Though the band might be performing their eponymous classic Tales Of The Thousand Lakes all over Europe this summer, it seems that the band have got other plans for their forthcoming new material.
Announcing Amorphis’ brand new album will be entitled Under The Red Cloud, the band will be releasing their latest incarnation on September 4th. Currently we only have a release date and album artwork, the striking red artwork was designed by the royalty sounding Valnoir Mortasonge, who has previously designed work for Paradise Lost, Behemoth and Watain to name but a few. Adding to his already growing list of absolutely stellar works, the album’s producer is, once again Jens Bogren. He seems to be inhumanly busy at creating modern day metal masterpieces this year. Stating that it is among guitarist Esa Holopainen’s favourite works with the band, it shall be interesting to see if the recent nostalgia from performing their older more Death Metal rooted material might have inspired a rebirth of their angrier side…
