Currently in their stage of touring the anniversary of Tales Of The Thousand Lakes, has it rubbed off on the band?
The answer is yes indeed! The first single to come from the bands forthcoming album is heavy. Entitled “Death Of A King” it’s a great new track, opening the track sounding more akin to Nile or Melechesh with the use of an interesting sitar sounding instrument. Not only is the new single an example of what we will be expecting when the band release their brand new album but it also features guest appearances.
Enlisting Eluveite Chigrel Glanzmann on the flute along with Martin Lopez, previously of Opeth fame on percussion and to top it off guest vocals from Aleah Standbridge from Trees Of Eternity. Personally I liked the track, it feels as though the band have embraced their past yet are not looking back solely and instead are looking towards the future instead aiming to regress. Listen to the track and let us know what you think!
Amorphis’ brand new album Under The Red Cloud will be released on September 4th via Nuclear Blast.
