Electro metallers Amaranthe have released a stream of a brand new track in anticipation of their upcoming album ‘Massive Addictive‘.
The track, called ‘Drop Dead Cynical‘, takes a slightly different direction than the typical Amaranthe sound and apparently is representative of the new album according to guitarist Olof Morck. It takes more of a industial tone, yet sounds very much like heavy pop. He spoke about the release of the new track:
“The first piece of music to be released from Massive Addictive is a very representative track. ‘Drop Dead Cynical’ is as massive as it is addictive. This ultra groovy song is a markedly different first single compared to classical Amaranthe single choices, and it takes our trademark sound in fresh and exciting new directions! Top that off with an anthemic chorus, and the result is what I consider one of the absolutely strongest Amaranthe songs ever!”
In all honestly we here are not too crazy about this track given the structural change of the song drifts way too much towards pop, but it definitely is for a fan that enjoys very accessible metal(?).
