All That Remains Frontman Phil Labonte Admits His Mistakes

All Right To Bear

Liking a band like All That Remains whoever you are, ensures that you get shtick. I personally, loved the band, nursing metalcore roots with the absolutely brilliant The Fall Of Ideals. Although it may not be a ground breaking record in the genre of metal itself it left a big enough mark in the 2000’s. Then things started to go slowly down hill, the bands following album Overcome was slightly more technical but essentially forgettable and a fairly boring affair, bringing it back slightly with the thunderous For We Are Many but then the atrocity that is A War You Cannot Win.

This album was terrible, having already been featured on our Sunday Roast, it is very much a mistake that fans understood as them attempting to become more radio friendly but for the first time, metal’s biggest bone head has admitted it was crap!

“I think this record is far and away better than our last one. It’s, in my opinion, far and away better than Overcome … A War You Cannot Win had some of our biggest singles. I think, overall, the record, in general, sucked. I think that For We Are Many, in my opinion, For We Are Many is one of our best records, in my personal opinion, it’s our best record. Overcome has our biggest single ever”

Will the next All That Remains album be a return to form for the metalcore bunch, or will it be the final nail in the bands coffin? Only Labonte will be able to loudly and obnoxiously tell…
